| In
the second episode of Season Two, Geoff and Steve return to Chile—the
site of their very first joint meteorite hunting expedition. They
made some amazing finds, including pieces of the rare Vaca Muerta
mesosiderite, a unique stony-iron meteorite and the beautiful
Imilac pallasite from the high Atacama Desert.
For a very limited time you can add a genuine Meteorite Men
find to your collection.
These meteorites were actually found on the show!
NOTES AND DIMENSIONS
The vial pictured is 20 x 48 mm. It contains approximately 15
grams of genuine Vaca Muerta meteorite fragments, collected in
the strewnfield. The mineral box pictured is 37 x 37 x 20 mm and
contains a genunine Imilac meteorite specimen, weighing approximately
1.5 grams. Every specimen is 100% guaranteed to be authentic and
as described.
This set also contains a certificate of authenticity, personally
signed by Geoff of Meteorite Men (not a printed signature),
an exclusive photo of the Meteorite Men at the Vaca Muerta site
in Chile (see photo below), and an Aerolite "wings"
sticker. This is the logo for Geoff's own company, Aerolite Meteorites,
and you'll see him wearing his special wings t-shirt in all the
Season Two episodes.
ABOUT THE METEORITE MEN
Geoff of Meteorite Men is a meteorite specialist, photographer
and science writer and his meteorite hunting articles and photographs
have appeared in Meteorite magazine, Astronomy, Rock
& Gem, Sky & Telescope, Wired, Geotimes, Seed,
Sci Q, and many other national and international publications.
He is also a fellow of the world famous Explorer's Club.
Steve of Meteorite Men stunned the scientific community
in the fall of 2005 when he discovered a 1,430-lb pallasite meteorite
buried in a cornfield near Brenham, Kansas. It is the largest
of its type ever found in North America. Pallasites are unique
among meteorites as they are composed of iron-nickel and olivine
crystals (the gemstone peridot).
The two friends have made documentaries about meteorite hunting
for Discovery, National Geographic, The History Channel, PBS,
and The Travel Channel as well as co-hosting Science Channel's
Meteorite Men adventure series.
